Terms of use

By playing Hemiscope — the daily puzzle, Atlas mode, or both — you agree to a few simple things.

Use the game in good faith

Don’t try to scrape, reverse engineer, or break the game in a way that affects other players. Don’t use automated tools to flood the site with traffic. Don’t attempt to bypass security measures, manipulate Atlas high-score storage, or otherwise cheat in a way that misleads other players.

The game is free, and provided as-is

Hemiscope is offered to you at no cost and with no warranties. We make a reasonable effort to keep the site working and the country data (names, capitals, populations, flags, borders) accurate, but we don’t guarantee uptime, completeness, or that every fact in the daily puzzle or in Atlas is correct. Use it for fun.

Your data on your device

Daily-game state, stats, and your Atlas best-run score are stored only in your browser. We aren’t responsible for loss of progress, streaks, or high scores due to clearing browser data, switching devices, or other causes outside our control. See the Privacy page for details.

Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the people who run Hemiscope are not liable for damages arising from your use of the site. If you don’t agree with that, please don’t use the site.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continuing to use the site after a change counts as acceptance of the new terms.
