Odd One Out: the daily geography puzzle
Odd One Out shows four countries. Three share a rule, like being landlocked, driving on the left or having the same continent, and one doesn't. Tap the odd one out. Five rounds a day, and the rule is revealed after every tap.
Play today's Odd One Out →How to play
- Look at the four countries. In the first three rounds the board tells you what kind of rule it is; in the last two you work it out yourself.
- Tap the country you think breaks the rule. You get one tap per round.
- See the rule and the answer, then move on to the next round.
Scoring
- Each round is right or wrong, and a miss doesn't end your day. Three out of five is a pass.
- Your streak only moves on a perfect five out of five.
- The share grid shows a green or red square for each round.
Tips
- Check the simple rules first: continent, coastline, which side of the road they drive on.
- Flags, hemispheres and the equator catch out a lot of players, so picture each country on the map.
- When two countries both look odd, look for the rule that the other three all share.
Questions
- What rules can come up?
- Continent, region, coastline, language, driving side, EU membership, flag colours, hemisphere, the equator, monarchies and island nations.
- Can I practise?
- Yes: New set deals another five rounds whenever you want.
- When is a new set out?
- Every day at midnight where you are.
