Atlas: the daily map game where you find the country
Atlas shows you a country's name and flag, and you tap where it is on a 3D globe with no labels. Five countries a day, scored by how close your pin lands to the capital. It's a quick test of how well you really know the world map.
Play today's Atlas →How to play
- Read the country and its flag at the top.
- Spin and zoom the globe, then tap where you think the capital is. Tap again to move your pin.
- Press Confirm guess to see the real spot and how far off you were.
- Play all five rounds, then share your score or keep going with a random run.
Scoring
- Within 50 km of the capital scores the full 100. After that you lose a point for every 50 km, down to 0 at about 5,000 km away.
- A day is out of 500. Score 300 or more to keep your streak going.
- The share grid gives one square per round: a target for a perfect 100, green for 80 or more, yellow for 50 or more.
Tips
- Find the continent first, then zoom in before you tap: a close pin is worth far more than a fast one.
- Small countries reward knowing their neighbours. Place the big country next door, then step across the border.
- Capitals aren't always in the middle. Think of the coast or river the capital sits on.
Questions
- Is it the same five countries for everyone?
- Yes. The daily set is the same for every player and changes at midnight where you are.
- Can I keep playing after the daily?
- Yes: a random run deals five new countries as many times as you like, and those scores count toward your personal best.
- Why does it score to the capital?
- It gives every country one fair point to aim for, big or small, so a pin anywhere inside Russia doesn't score the same as one on Moscow.
